FAQ

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1. How much food should I order?

We've made this part easy — you tell us how many people you're feeding, and we'll take care of the portions. Unlike traditional catering menus where you need to work out how many platters, sandwiches or individual pieces to order, most of our menu is priced and portioned per person.

If you're catering for 12 people, simply order for 12. If you're feeding 50, order for 50. Each product clearly tells you what each person receives, so you know exactly how much food will arrive.

This means less guesswork, less chance of running short and less unnecessary food waste.

For larger events, all-day catering or occasions where you're unsure how much to order, get in touch with our team and we'll be happy to help you build the right menu for your group.

2. Where do you deliver?

We deliver across Sydney, Monday to Saturday, with delivery fees and minimum order values based on your delivery postcode.

To make it easy, we've put together a complete postcode guide showing the minimum order and delivery fee for each area.

Can't find your postcode? Get in touch with our team at [email protected] and we'll let you know if we can deliver to your location.

3. What days and times do you deliver?

We deliver Monday to Saturday, from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm. If you require delivery outside of these hours, please contact us directly at [email protected] and we'll do our best to accommodate your request.

4. When will my order arrive?

To help ensure your catering is ready when you need it, your order may arrive slightly ahead of your selected delivery time.

Please allow for the following delivery windows:

  • Hot food: May arrive up to 20 minutes before your selected delivery time.
  • Cold food: May arrive up to 45 minutes before your selected delivery time.

We recommend selecting a delivery time that gives you enough time to receive and set up your catering before your meeting or event begins.

5. What's your order cut-off time?

Place your order by 4:00 pm for next-day delivery. Need something at short notice? Give our team a call on 0478 730 402. While availability cannot always be guaranteed, we'll always do our best to accommodate last-minute orders.

For larger orders or events, we recommend ordering as early as possible to ensure your preferred menu and delivery time are available.

6. Can I make changes to my order after it has been placed?

Absolutely. We understand that guest numbers, dietary requirements and meeting details can change.

Where possible, changes can be made up until 4:00 pm the day before your scheduled delivery or collection.

If you need to make a change after this time, please contact our team directly. While we can't guarantee late changes once preparation has begun, we'll always do our best to accommodate your request.

For any order changes, please contact us at [email protected] or call 0478 730 402.

7. Where can I pick up my order?

Orders can be collected from our kitchen at 189 O'Riordan Street, Mascot NSW 2020.

We recommend calling us shortly before you arrive so our team can have your order packed and ready to go.

This also allows us to assist with parking and collection, making your pick-up as quick and seamless as possible.

Please have your order name or order number ready when collecting.

8. How do you handle dietary requirements and allergies?

We take dietary requirements seriously. Any items prepared for a dietary requirement or allergy will be packaged separately and clearly labelled for easy identification when your order arrives.

Please be aware that all food is prepared in a shared commercial kitchen where allergens including gluten, milk, eggs, soy, sesame, peanuts, tree nuts, fish, crustaceans, lupin and sulphites are handled.

While care is taken when preparing and packing dietary orders, we cannot guarantee that any item is completely free from allergens or traces of allergens, as cross-contact may occur during preparation, storage or handling.

If you or one of your guests has a severe food allergy, please let us know when placing your order. Customers with food allergies should consider the potential for cross-contact before consuming our products.

VMV Catering cannot accept liability for allergic reactions resulting from the consumption of our food where allergens or traces of allergens may be present.

9. What is your cancellation policy?

We understand that plans can change, particularly when organising meetings and events.

Orders cancelled more than 24 hours before the scheduled delivery or collection time can be cancelled without charge.

For cancellations made within 24 hours, a cancellation fee of up to 50% of the order value may apply, as ingredients, preparation and staffing may already have been allocated to your order.

Orders cancelled on the day of delivery or collection may be charged the full order value.

For large or custom catering orders, different cancellation terms may apply. Where applicable, these will be communicated when your order is confirmed.

If you need to change or cancel an order, please contact us as soon as possible and we'll do our best to assist.
